MISSION ASSISTANCE REPRESENTATIVE

This position is a customer service-oriented person with multiple task projects that provide front-line support to customers across Mission Services.

​Essential Duties:

Customer Service

  • Represent Young Life Mission Services in an efficient, professional manner to donors, parents, friends of Young Life, and Young Life staff and volunteers. ​ Create and maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Supports the main Young Life phone number that directs to mission services and email requests from the contact page on younglife.org.
  • Provide timely and Christ-like basic-level front-line support to Young Life customers through email and phone interactions.
  • Accurately route calls to the appropriate person or department when needed.
  • Respond to and accurately route email correspondence from Staff Resources and the Young Life website to the appropriate person or department.
  • Assist donors with a variety of support to include (but not limited to), updates to contact information and combining duplicate records, verifying accuracy of donor information on file, corrections of giving history, accepting new donations over the phone, changes to recurring gifts, general receipting, year end giving summaries, technical online giving support.
  • Assist field staff with general YL Connect questions surrounding contact data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of contact and financial data.
  • Maintain tracking records of calls, when necessary.

Data Management

  • Perform daily Quality Control process on donor information for transactions marked special handling. ​ Ensure contact information is spelled correctly and that greetings are correct.
  • Perform donor database, Mission Directory, and Lawson database maintenance to meet input standards and database requirements.
  • Responsible for responding to and processing field requests for combining duplicate account/contact records. ​ Technical skills are required to manage the complex merging process; extreme accuracy is required. ​ Adhere to policies on what records are allowed to be merged and maintain the integrity of the contact data.
  • Assist with various database clean-up projects and other assignments as needed.

Mission Services Support

  • Be knowledgeable on communications sent out from mission services in order to provide support to callers.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.
  • Process address updates for undeliverable mail from mission services mailings (i.e. Relationships magazine, appeals, donor receipts).
  • Review, process/distribute mail items in the “Without Money Queue” from CDS on a daily basis.
  • Provide backup assistance for the Financial Services check-run processes.
  • Sort and deliver all incoming Financial Services mail on a daily basis.

Job-Specific Working Condition​s

  • Onsite office environment in Colorado Springs, CO with potential for hybrid or remote
  • Individuals will be sitting at his/her desk the majority of the day; must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Individuals will have specific scheduled support times and scheduled lunches.
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is anywhere from $13.79 - $17.27 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

Experience Required for the Job

  • Some customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in highly technical software.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pay extreme attention to detail and handle daily multitasking.
  • Excellent professional communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Successfully prioritize and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have strong Internet navigation skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Has the desire to learn, help others and serve as a resource.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
