MAINTENANCE TECH I

Mission & Authority

Provide support to the sites and facilities manager and the Campus Services team by ensuring that all responsibilities are handled timely and in a quality manner to include maintenance of electrical, mechanical, building, construction, and landscaping of the four Young Life properties in Colorado Springs

​Essential Duties:

  • Assist the Campus Services team with staff service calls and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Available after normal business hours due to security or other Campus Services emergencies, as needed.
  • Be available for early morning snow removal when necessary
  • Perform routine landscape maintenance on campus-owned properties
  • Responsible for scheduling regular maintenance checks on Young Life-owned vehicles.
  • Handle tasks related to security including Security Computer Access System
  • Reconfiguring of office furniture and cubes
  • Perform preventative maintenance and respond to DIN items.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs in and around campus properties
  • Work on minor changes and monitoring of the automated HVAC system.
  • Work on minor electrical repairs, change light bulbs and electrical ballasts, wire fixtures and repair small equipment as needed.

Job-Specific Working Condition​s

  • Office environment that may include lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending down, stooping, stretching, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Occasional travel to off-site locations for Young Life related events to set up and operate audio/visual equipment or other tasks.
  • Occasional working outdoors year-round to perform essential tasks
  • This position is located at Young Life's Service Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  • Pay Range: $13.79-$17.27 per hour.

Qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma

Experience Required for the Job

  • Two to four years of experience in building maintenance or relevant experience at a Young Life property.
  • General knowledge of building maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and other power tools.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be available/flexible with schedule for being on-call status (if the need arises).
  • Self-starter.
  • Must be a team player
