Description:
This person would oversee and direct the Young Life ministry in Northwood.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and lead a creative and consistent contact work ministry in Northwood, centering on students at Coe-Brown or Barrington Middle School (two contact work events weekly: four to five hours).
- Work to recruit, train and oversee a team of volunteer leaders.
- Lead a regular (ideally weekly) Campaigners/discipleship group with existing students (one night/afternoon weekly: two hours).
- Lead a regular (ideally two times a month) club or similar outreach event inviting new students and providing Campaigners with an opportunity to reach out to friends (two times monthly: three to four hours).
- Work to connect kids to a local church.
- Utilize Young Life camping ministry taking a weeklong outreach camp trip each summer and a weekend camp trip every November.
- Network and work collaboratively with the local church community.
- Attend monthly committee meetings and work to build relationships of friendship and ministry partnership with the local committee (one meeting monthly: two hours).
- Check and respond to emails from parents/community at least three times a week; spend time in advance planning for Young Life events (one to two hours weekly).
- Meet monthly with the regional Young Life staff representative for ongoing training/support.
- As able, attend Regional Young Life Staff Days (three times annually).
- Attend national staff training as schedule allows.
Qualifications:
- Young Life volunteer leading experience is preferred.
Benefits:
- The compensation for this position beginning in September 2021 will be between $1,000 - $1,500/month. This amount could grow as the ability for the staff person to engage in personal fundraising/training becomes available.
