Major Donor Events Coordinator

Mission/Authority

Under the direction of the chief development officer, work to create and implement high level donor events that cultivate a shared vision for Young Life and promote the lifetime financial partnership of major donors and potential major donors, and acknowledge and appreciate regularly.

Essential Duties:

  • Create, implement and maintain a gratitude strategy and system for major gifts ($1M+)
  • Work alongside the CDO to create a stewardship plan for major gifts to include, follow up, impact reporting and connection to projects and people where appropriate.

Major Donor (PIM) Data Management

  • Maintain a up to date list of Partner’s in Ministry (PIMs).
  • Ensure the completion, accuracy and changes of the list.
  • Ensure the accuracy of PIMs information and integration into YL Connect.
  • Cross-reference monthly reports with the list to ensure accuracy of data. These reports include:

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Gifts of $50K and above.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Top 500 donors for the fiscal year.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Top 500 lifetime donors to the mission.

  • Work alongside the vice president of development services in the 4D project.

Major Donor Events

  • Major donor events include The Table, Anschutz, Staff Celebrations, Sea Cloud trips. Logistics for these events include the following:

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Research and compile guest list(s) for event(s).

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Design, print and mail invitations (working with Creative Services).

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Other applicable mailings regarding event(s).

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Maintain RSVPs to event(s).

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Respond to donor questions and emails.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Coordinate details of event(s) with President’s Office.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Investigate off-site venues for event(s).

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Negotiate contracts with events sites with Arrowhead.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Compile and monitor budgets for President’s Circle and all events.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Coordinate event details with applicable location(s) and staff.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Create a communication plan for President.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Communicate with primary callers, regional directors and area directors ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ regarding President’s Circle events, Eagles Nest Ranch, Sea Cloud and any other pertinent events.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Select and order gifts for event attendees.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Respond to field questions and/or inquiries regarding evens and participants.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Develop and distribute evaluation survey for donors regarding event experience via Emma/Wufoo.

  • Work alongside other members of the development department to assist in donor events to include, but not limited to the Global Giving Circles, Golf and Grow events and Camp Celebrations.

PIM Cultivation

  • Develop and execute on donor care best practices with PIMS to include birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, flowers and other milestone events. This will be done in conjunction with the office of the president.
  • Send gifts of value to PIMs when appropriate.
  • Act as the YL concierge to all PIMS and top “Gospel Patrons”
  • Visit major donors when appropriate

Cross Functional Coordination

  • Work with the following departments to coordinate efforts and ensure excellence in communication and event calendars:

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Missional Campaigns (YL30 or Forward).

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ - Office of the President.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BA degree preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional travel.
  • This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado at Young Life's Service Center.

Experience/Qualifications Required for The Job:

  • Capable of successfully overseeing the elements of donor management and follow-through.
  • Tested and proved in environments that demand proactivity and punctuality in meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Event planning.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to research and study for speaking and presentations.

The anticipated salary for this position ranges from $3,031 - $3,794 per month.
