Metro Southwest Young Life is looking to hire an area director for ministry at Lyons Township High School and oversight of WyldLife in the area. Young Life has been active in the area for 60 years. We are looking for an area director who can lead a team, connect with students and oversee other staff in the area. Young Life is a non-profit organization with the goal of introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.

Responsibilities:

Do you love Jesus? Do you care that kids have the opportunity to know Him? Are you passionate about building relationships with others? If so, Prospect Young Life would love to hear from you!

• Love high school students in the community and share with them about Jesus through individual relationships, Bible studies and events.
• Lead a team of adult volunteers and student leaders to share the love of Jesus with high school students.
• Work closely with parents to better love and engage their kids.
• Work closely with the MSW Young Life committee to build a God-honoring ministry.
• Together with the committee, raise funds and awareness of Young Life in the area.
• Plan and execute weekly events with the assistance of volunteers to introduce kids to Jesus or help further their relationship with Him.

Qualifications:

• A deep love for Jesus and high school students.
• Ability and desire to relate to all high school students and adults.
• Self-motivation with a strong work ethic.
• Ability and desire to maintain a varying schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable working independently and as a part of a team.
• A learner's posture and a desire to grow and be teachable.
• A leader with humility and ability to ask for help when needed.
• Ability and desire to relate to adults including high schoolers' parents and adult volunteers.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Young Life experience is helpful but not required.
