Description:

Help recruit, train and equip leaders for Young Life and WyldLife. You will be the team leader for the Young Life team and will be expected to work 40-60 hours/month. Baker City is a small town of approximately 10,000 people with a 20-plus-year history of Young Life.

Responsibilities:

Spiritual Development “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health, and church relationships.

  • Personal relationship with Jesus is active and growing.
  • Consistently living out a life of prayer and listening.
  • Develop a personal growth plan to further foster your relationship with Jesus.
  • Follow up on personal growth plans made with volunteer leaders.

Administrative Tasks

  • CMI numbers reported to area administrator weekly.
  • Take notes and send out recaps to the support teams when needed.
  • In charge of communicating all camp-related items to the team.
  • Read first and third regional letter thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Read the Monday Morning​ national publication each week.

Leadership Development​ — “Equipping leaders, committee, student leader, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting."

  • Consistent communication with the leader team and student leader team regarding ministry, meetings, trainings, etc.
  • Check in with the committee once a month with a ministry report.

Resource Development “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and assisting the committee in one-on-one and small group visits with potential donors.

  • Actively participate in and assist with camp fundraisers.

Qualifications:

  • Deep love for Jesus and a desire to grow and be challenged in his or her faith.
  • A servant’s heart for others (kids, leaders, families, etc.).
  • Willing to take risks and dream outside of the norm.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to share the gospel with teens.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow through on tasks.

Notes:

This position could be mission staff, staff associate or teacher staff. Hours will be determined based on role, availability and funding.
