Director of International Integration and Strategy
Mission & Authority
Direct the integration and strategy services of Young Life International divisions providing Christ-centered leadership to ensure that the ministry of Young Life is accountable, credible and fruitful as it introduces adolescents to Jesus Christ and helps them grow in their faith. This role primarily involves integrating a working understanding and implementation of various mission-wide initiatives and functions between the United States and “International Young Life,” including strategic and programmatic needs.
Essential Duties:
General
- Participate in the strategic development of connectivity for global Young Life.
- Participate in efforts to create administrative, field and functional integration and connectivity for staff and volunteers at the global level of Young Life, including facilitation of international mission imperatives, such as Salesforce, Workday, Map-Tree-List, i100, etc.
- Facilitate management of systems and staffing for gathering data needed by Young Life for its global reports.
- Provide feedback to and integration of global policies.
- Work with all Young Life departments functional/Mission Services staff to facilitate appropriate set-ups and communications in all countries in each Division.
- Work with country leadership and Service Center departments to implement corporate operations and functional policies for new and existing organizations.
Strategy
- Provide organizational vision and practical support to enterprise-wide special strategic initiatives.
- Manage deliverables, timelines and tasks in a cross-functional and collaborative manner.
- Collaborate with VP of Strategy Services for subject matter expertise, project management and training as applicable.
- Contribute to driving organizational strategy.
- Troubleshoot and drive issues and challenges, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Organize executive level presentation materials and systems to provide high level reporting and increase organizational awareness.
- Facilitate the timely flow of accurate information across work streams and stakeholders. o Lead Financial management of the international initiatives and the GSVP office.
- Manage regular SAT reporting.
- Annual VSP (Vision & Strategic Planning) cycle.
- Annual initiatives budget work.
Integration
- Work closely with the new VP of International Operations on the following:
- Budgeting process
- Compensation worksheets
- Timeline execution/followup
- ILF process and allocation
- Mission-wide funding and tracking
- Assist with Workday planning
Liaison with the International Field
- Participate as deemed necessary in International Leadership meetings and conferences.
- Ensure strong connectivity is upheld with the senior vice presidents of every division.
- Facilitate regular communication with country administrators and other leaders in each division.
- As needed, make on-site visits to help understand issues and find solutions.
Other
- Collaborate as an advisor for MarCom, fostering effective communication on behalf of international field communications.
- Assist the GSVP office to manage all major donor communications.
Job-Specific Working Conditions
- Office environment
- Occasional travel – 20-25% expected for US and international travel
- The salary for this position can range from $71,397 - $97,570 depending on relevant experience and education.
- Benefits will be provided consistent with the Country of origin/work location.

Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience Required for the Job
- Proven relational skills.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, devise logical and creative solutions and empower people to implement them.
- Works well with a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- 10 years direct work experience in strategy and/or program management.
- 5 years of YL international experience and cross-cultural expertise.
- Strong understanding of Young Life’s culture and operations, with the ability to successfully navigate and lead in a cross-functional environment.
- Prior work experience in an international strategy role, or management consultant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and initiatives/programs collaboratively without a direct reporting line.
- Experience leading projects and initiatives/programs end-to-end, including developing work plans, assessing dependencies, coordinating with appropriate stakeholders, developing financial models, and synthesizing findings into recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to take recommendations and operationalize them.
- Ability to appropriately manage expectations across scoped and proposed projects and related stakeholders.
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously from conception to completion in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of effective collaboration across a complex, diverse and geographically distributed organization.
