Director of Workday Systems

​Essential Duties:

Program Management

  • Overall ownership for the ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of the Workday HCM and/or Finance system; Drives system vision and strategy
  • Serve as a strong consultative partner to business and functional leaders to continuously improve service delivery
  • Lead governance process, road mapping exercises and cross-functional resource planning
  • Partner with the Workday Support Lead ensuring day-to-day systems support is balanced with strategic enhancements and projects
  • Serve as Head of Workday Steering Committee and liaison of communication between Workday Support Team, Steering and Executive Committees
  • Interprets requirements from business stakeholders to technical teams
  • Workday Training Coordinator – Assign, approve and track training for functional users
  • Organize the overall Project, Project Components, and key stakeholders for efficient communications and issue resolution

Product Management

  • Responsible for being knowledgeable on the Workday roadmap and upcoming product releases, reviewing release notes, assessing new features and understanding the impacts to business processes and basic changes in functionality
  • Collaborate with YL PMO Office for on-going release planning, end user impact, strategic planning for the mission, etc
  • Lead governance process, road mapping exercises and cross-functional resource planning; Works closely with the IT Lead who will coordinate and lead Workday mandatory upgrades; design and implement overall testing strategy.
  • Partner with the Development team to triage escalated integration issues.
  • Evaluate feasibility of system modifications and enhancements
  • Implement lessons learned/best practices and look to improve quality of the releases

Supervision

  • Oversee and supervise Workday System staff as required

Change Management

  • Manage the Change Request process
  • Review all Change Requests and determine which go into Change Log, which go into Improve Wave, and which go to the Steering Committee for review.
  • Evaluate each change’s impact across Workday platform and the WV Partnership, to assess required decision makers
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes and capabilities

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience related to implementation and management of enterprise HR or Financials applications
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages with all levels in the organization, including breaking down complex topics for target audiences
  • Ability to understand business priorities and align technology opportunities
  • Project planning, management, risk monitoring and mitigation
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
  • Ability to motivate and set the direction for a team
  • Demonstrate high level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality

Job-Specific Working Condition​s

  • The anticipated salary for this position can range from $92,071-$127,506 depending on relevant experience and education.
  • This can be a fully remote working position, or in-office position in Colorado Springs, Co at our Service Center. ​

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; masters preferred ​

Experience Required for the Job

  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, including leading and managing complex projects or programs with outcome-focused deliverables, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of managerial experience
  • Three (3)+ years of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience preferred with Workday
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HR or Financials (FINS) technical skills and core HR or FINS competencies and/or IT configuration and release processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business process analysis and interpretation in technical configuration requirements
