Mission & Authority
To conduct the full range of activities required to research, prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to foundations on behalf of the Young Life field ministry.
Essential Duties:
Supporting and Enhancing Foundation Relationships
Assist international development staff in prospecting new foundation relationships and stewarding relationships with current foundations for the benefit of Young Life’s international ministries.
- Perform prospect research on foundations- analyzing and determining whether a foundation is a viable prospect for various Young Life international ministries, and prioritizing prospects for development staff.
- Provide research on corporate giving as required.
- Gather information and statistics relevant to the need for which funding is sought.
Support, advise, and provide oversight to international development staff in their efforts to successfully craft and submit high-quality, professional, and captivating grant proposals.
- Draft persuasive letters of inquiry and proposals to select foundations.
- Review, proof, and edit communications going to foundations.
- Improve the rate of grants successfully funded through effective storytelling and increased proposal volume.
- Assist where needed in helping field staff write CASE statements.
Assist international development staff in managing the funds received in alignment with excellent standards of stewardship.
- Track grants awarded.
- Interpret grant proposal requirements.
- Maintain proposal records.
- Provide oversight for how grant program results will be tracked.
Assist international development staff with reporting how grant funds were used.
- Track reporting timelines established by the foundations according to their grant cycles.
- Advise international staff how to effectively communicate results of a grant in agreement with the grant proposal.
- Assist in drafting and submitting compelling reports to foundations to provide assurance with how their funds were used and to further engage them in our work.
Other
- Work in partnership with the Foundations and Corporate Relations team to achieve department goals and report on the progress of goals.
- Work in partnership with Development Services staff, divisional campaign directors, and international field staff to provide a high level of support and service.
- Carry out other duties as assigned to support the major foundation work.
- Fundraise $5,000 per year in personal support.

- Remote work or office environment with some travel required.

Qualifications:
Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with three to five years of relevant work experience.
Experience Required for the Job
- Past proposal or professional writing required.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Proven experience in positive interpersonal interactions.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in persuasive writing.
- Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Notes:
This position has an anticipated salary range of $48,000 - $62,000 annually.
