Area Director I or II — Boston North Shore, MA

Description:

This strategic, historic Young Life area currently has Young Life ministry in Gloucester and Hamilton-Wenham with the potential to re-develop ministry to high school and middle school students in the surrounding towns. We are looking for a strategic and visionary leader who is willing to do great work with students to develop a flagship Young Life club ministry while also training a team of college-aged volunteer leaders to go after every kid in the area.

The Boston North Shore area is located just north of the city of Boston and spans a large geography from the multiethnic cities of Lynn and Salem in the south to the suburban towns of Ipswich and Hamilton-Wenham in the north. Other communities with Young Life include the coastal towns of Marblehead and Gloucester and the unique town of Beverly. Gordon College has long been a leadership and staff pipeline for the North Shore and beyond and represents a wonderful source of volunteers for the area.

Candidates should have two-plus years of student ministry experience and a willingness to serve in the beauty and challenge of a New England area. Other necessary skills include a giftedness at working with un-churched high school and middle school students, recruiting and training college-aged volunteer leaders, working with adults and fundraising.
