Staff Associate — Amelia County, VA

Description:

Amelia County, Va., is a wonderfully rural county southwest of Richmond that affords both peaceful living and proximity to many conveniences. Its population of 13,000+ (73% white, 20% black, 4% Hispanic, 3% other) is a good mix of newer residents and multi-generational families. It is a largely agricultural economy (corn, soybeans, beef cattle) with a growing light industrial sector. Amelia High School is in the center of the county and has approximately 550 students. There are also teens who attend Amelia Academy nearby. There are more than 30 small churches throughout the county. Within the Village of Amelia is a grocery store, various restaurants and retailers. The urban and suburban stores and restaurants are only 20-30 minutes away in Chesterfield, Richmond, Farmville or Blackstone.
