Central Cincinnati Young Life (CCYL) is seeking an innovative, driven and faithful individual to fulfill the role of a part-time YoungLives​ coordinator.

YoungLives​ is Young Life’s outreach and ministry to parenting teenagers and their children. YoungLives​ clubs are regular gatherings with parenting teenagers and mentors with the support of childcare workers and various community help. Clubs meet around the world offering fun, laughter, encouragement and an inspirational message. Other YoungLives​ activities may include Bible study, group outings and life skill instruction.

In Central Cincinnati, the part-time coordinator would be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and growth of the existing ministry. The YoungLives​ coordinator needs to be someone who has a mature faith and is up for taking leadership roles in multiple capacities: with the moms, volunteers, donors, families, the community, etc. The YoungLives​ coordinator will work in tandem with the CCYL area director and staff to further ministry efforts. Further details on the duties of the role are listed below.

Responsibilities:

Ministry

  • Foster direct ministry relationships with teen moms and their children.
  • Coordinator will mentor at least one, if not two to three, participant(s).
  • Recruit, train, mobilize and retain mentors, childcare volunteers and other individuals supporting the ministry.
  • Supervise and evaluate volunteers in leadership development, spiritual formation and ministry with teen moms.
  • Meet regularly with the volunteer team for on-going training, ministry planning and community building.

Implement the 5 C's of Young Life

  • Contact Work - Create an effective contact work strategy to reach teen moms.
  • Club - Maintain and grow CCYL’s regular club.
  • Campaigners - Start and develop a regular rhythm of Campaigners and discipleship.
  • Camp.
  • Committee - Recruit and build a YoungLives​ committee.

Financial Management + Donor Development

  • Impart vision for the YoungLives​ ministry to potential donors.
  • Raise personal and ministry funds as determined by the supervisor.
  • Create and implement an effective fundraising strategy for salary, ministry needs and campership.

Administration

  • Ensure the administrative requirements are handled with excellence and on time.
  • Comply with volunteer management procedures concerning YoungLives​ volunteers.

Community Outreach

  • Speak to civic and church groups to promote and publicize YoungLives.
  • Develop relationships with schools, teen parenting programs, crisis pregnancy centers and other applicable community organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the Gospel and train others accordingly.
  • Ability to clearly communicate Young Life’s mission and the vision for YoungLives.
  • Understand the unique issues faced by pregnant and parenting teen moms.
  • Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Goal-oriented.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as the job requires.
  • Ability to invest and learn the ethics of trauma-informed care.
