Area Director – Panama City, Panama
Description:
We are seeking a creative, flexible, vibrant and enthusiastic person, couple, or family to join the team in Panama. The ideal person is a team player who is excited about joining a growing ministry and willing to get connected at all levels of national ministry — helping develop administrative systems and development strategies, communicating with donors in the United States, direct ministry with high school or college-age kids, discipleship, hosting Expeditions groups, and more! Must be a lifelong learner and willing to come alongside local leaders. Must also have a strong base of experience in direct ministry with Young Life; experience starting new clubs would be ideal. There are currently two Panamanian staff members and several volunteer leaders in Panama City. The hope is to start a university club ministry soon. Panama City is a large, metropolitan city with a substantial expat population.

- Develop a plan to train, disciple and develop volunteer leaders.
- Raise 100% of financial support per individual budget and maintain good donor-care practices.
- Oversee the resource development of the area; meet with donors and oversee fundraising events and/or opportunities.
- Communicate ministry updates and progress to donor partners.
- Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders and donors for area records.
- Participate in or lead staff events and training events as required.
- Plan and organize any outreach and/or Campaigners camps.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated strong Young Life team leadership experience is required.
- Previous Young Life staff experience is preferred.
- Adventurous and adaptable attitude for a new culture. Must be able to relate, work and build community in a multicultural, multilingual area.
- Vision and ability to recruit, develop and multiply leaders.
- Ability to identify and develop fundraising opportunities within the local community.
- Must maintain confidentiality.
- College degree required.
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred; language school is required if not fluent in Spanish.
- Willingness to make a three-year minimum commitment.

In addition, staff may raise funds and be reimbursed for the purchase of a vehicle, an annual personal trip to see family, pre-K through 12th grade private school education for dependent children, language school, moving expenses, and a one-time bonus of up to two-months’ salary.
