SENIOR DIRECTOR OF LEADERSHIP FORMATION

Mission & Authority:

This person will ensure the integration of Young Life’s missional core values, theology, and tools toward leadership formation in to the life of our staff and volunteers.

Essential Duties:

Spiritual Development - "Following Jesus" includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health, and church relationships.

  • Maintain personal spiritual health by regular devotion, solitude, and prayer.
  • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community.
  • Hospitable, Christ-like attitude of servant leadership.
  • Solid biblical and theological foundation.
  • Strong spiritual, emotional health and evidence of spiritual growth

Learning & Leadership - People and team development including leaders and staff through events, trainings, and department alignment.

  • Lead a team that integrates missional core values, core tools and personal leadership formation into the daily life of our staff and volunteers.
  • Collaborate effectively with Learning and Leadership teams toward learner centric culture, processes and experiences.
  • Supervise and develop individual team members in their leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with theological thought leaders and institutions that strategically grow our organization and people toward Christ centered leadership.
  • Collaboration with mission leaders to consider leadership models, principles and behaviors needed to fulfill the mission and implement in our department.

Department Support & Vision Development - taking care of business includes internal communication, data management, and strategic planning.

  • Lead, develop and implement scope and sequenced learning content that supports missional core values.
  • Ensure learning opportunities that equip and develop a learners spiritual and theological formation toward effective leadership.
  • Support and Develop learning that equips staff with the systems, processes and tools that serve our staff toward greater effectiveness in their roles.
  • Create and maintain current and readily available resource library that best serves our staff.
  • Facilitate change based on assessment feedback that supports focus and alignment of mission.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • MA in Theology

Experience Required for the Job:

  • Understands and demonstrates the mission values and ethos of Young Life.
  • Understands and can equip staff in the skills needed for successful Young Life ministry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in web-based training preferred.
  • Evidenced ability towards continual improvement.
  • Learner and growth mindset.

  • Some travel will be required.
  • This position is open to remote work.
