Hopkins Young Life is looking for a part-time mission staff. An ideal mission staff candidate is skilled at relational ministry with kids and has the abilities to develop a team of volunteer leaders and adult committee members. Having significant autonomy, this person is adept at managing time and is a strong communicator.

Responsibilities:

Training and Fellowship

  • Regional staff meetings quarterly (recommended).
  • Trained by associate regional director.
  • Challenged to grow spiritually.

Community Relations

  • Build relationships with parents, teachers, administration, clergy and other community people to give credibility to Young Life.
  • Recruit volunteer leaders from the community.
  • Obtain pictures and pass along via email or Google Drive to be used for future marketing.
  • Stay up to date with social media by posting on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Help maintain and monitor the Hopkins Young Life website.
  • Maintain Hopkins Young Life's Gmail account.

Contact Work

  • Initiate relationships with high school students by attending events at school (strongly encouraged weekly).
  • Be available to students, ensure you and the leaders are building relationships with them.
  • Pray.

Club

  • Facilitate the planning of regular clubs with the leadership team.
  • Facilitate bi-weekly leaders meetings for encouragement, growth, planning, prayer and fellowship. This will include consistent communication and checking in with the leaders.
  • Evaluate club and give feedback.

Campaigners

  • Facilitate a quality discipleship program where leaders are helping kids grow deeper in their faith.

Camping

  • Assist in filling outreach summer camp trips.
  • Determine dates, locations and transportation.
  • Determine pricing -- work with the committee in regards to financial projections and funding.
  • Steer and be present with camp fundraising.
  • Facilitate tracking of students and payments.

Committee

  • Provide monthly updates with prayer and praise reports.
  • Attend committee meetings bi-monthly or designate a leader to represent to communicate needs and support.
  • Check in with the committee lead bi-weekly.

Finances

  • Good stewards of limited funds. Working with committee on major purchases ($250) and appropriate funds per budgeted area.
  • Promote Young Life and raise 50% of wage/salary.
  • Support fundraising events through participation and promotion.

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about Jesus and kids.
  • Desire to join people on their journey as they navigate the chaos of life and the complexities of faith.
  • Passionate about inviting people into transformational experiences.
  • Skilled in including people from all walks of life.
  • Administrative skill.
  • Ability to be a good steward of people's stories and information.

Notes:

Working Conditions

  • Involves some weekends and nights.
  • Could involve a week(s) out of town for camp or training.
