Urbandale is the next town over from Des Moines which is the state capital of Iowa. ​ It is ranked #5 on U.S. News “Best Places to Live! ​ The area boasts all the aspects of the big city and a small town in one location. ​ You will find many state parks, great restaurants, and a major airport that will take you anywhere you want to go. ​

The town currently has a committee and a thriving volunteer led Wyldlife ministry at Urbandale Middle school that has 26% minority student enrollment.

We are seeking a Staff Associate or Area Director in order for Young Life to be a vital part of our community, impacting kids and adults with the love and hope found only in a relationship with Jesus.

Responsibilities:

• Provide spiritual leadership to students, leaders, committee, board and student staff.
• Disciple, recruit, supervise, support and develop area leaders and student staff.
• Help execute the area vision, ministries and strategic plan.
• Raise personal and ministry support for one or more high school ministries.
• Participate in dynamic direct ministry with kids (contact work).

Qualifications:

• Possess a Christlike character that is built on the Word and Spirit of God.
• Ability to build, train, recruit and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders and committee members).
• Execute a vision and plan to grow current ministries in reaching kids, leaders, committee and parents.
• Passion for reaching lost kids and calling others to that mission.
• Proven leadership skills, strong organizational skills, and a great communicator to kids and adults.
• Previous experience as Young Life staff or volunteer leader.
• Ability to build relationships and disciple high school and college students today (contact work).
• Proven ability to raise personal and ministry support.
• Spiritually and emotionally healthy and willing to get the support/mentors needed to maintain.
