Staff Associate I — Lake Country, WI

Young Life Lake Country is seeking a staff associate to join an experienced area director and a team of volunteers to grow our dynamic ministry in this long-time Young Life area. The “Lake Country” is an area west of Milwaukee that encompasses more than 20 lakes and several communities including Harland, Pewaukee, and Oconomowoc. Located within easy traveling distance of Milwaukee and Chicago, this a great place for a small-town vibe with plentiful hiking and biking trails and easy access to a major city.

Young Life in this area has a rich 40+ year history and a vibrant presence in the community. Lake Country is an excellent place for a staff associate to spend two to three years completing Young Life’s staff training and being prepared for a future area director position.

Responsibilities:

  • Embody a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Work with the area director to grow and develop outreach to students and a discipleship plan.
  • Oversee direct ministry and leadership development for WyldLife or Young Life including but not limited to club, leader recruiting/ training, and other area functions.
  • Model consistent contact work (mentoring) of students and facilitate the growth of volunteers’ student mentorship as well.
  • Organize events and fundraisers.
  • Complete all national and local Young Life trainings.
  • Attend all area staff meetings and regional meetings.
  • Be available to serve on a month-long summer camp assignment two of every three years.
  • Expect to be on one to two trips to camp every summer.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with the community and volunteers.
  • Ability to build, train, recruit, and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders, and community members).

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Learn to work with the committee to build local ministry, vision, and support.
  • Personal fundraising goal ranges from $10,000-$20,000 (professional training provided).

Qualifications:

  • Desire to grow spiritually, personally, and professionally while serving and leading.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Previous Young Life experience preferred.
