Area Director — Sammamish, WA

Description:

The Sammamish community, located on the Eastside of Seattle, is a rapidly growing, multiethnic area with an increasing number of East, Southeast and Central Asian families. This growth is driven by Seattle’s global high-tech workforce, exceptional schools and appealing suburban living. These factors contribute to the flourishing multiethnic communities expanding throughout Seattle’s Eastside, including Sammamish.

Our mission is to provide every student the opportunity to hear the Gospel before they graduate. We believe God is inviting us to develop staff and volunteer teams that represent and are empowered to serve our diverse community.

We are seeking an area director to lead our ministry. This person will have the opportunity to develop skills vital for success in a rapidly evolving workplace and enhance their Young Life career within a global organization. Our community is home to some of the world's largest and most influential corporations (Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks, etc.), so your impact here will have global reach. As Young Life leaders, we have a unique opportunity to foster a culture of belonging as we engage with and include kids from diverse backgrounds.

This work will serve as the foundation for the growing active ministry for the 9,000+ students at Skyline, Eastside Catholic, and Eastlake High School, as well as their feeder middle schools.

Sammamish Young Life is one of the most active and deeply rooted Young Life areas in the Pacific Northwest. Our next area director will collaborate with our multi-staff Sammamish/Issaquah team, allowing them to learn and grow alongside a diverse set of peers. Supported by an active area committee and a welcoming parent community, this person will build relationships with students and leaders, recruit and manage volunteers, engage with the community, raise funds, and lead direct ministry.
