Regional Initiatives Coordinator, Mountain West Region (Part-Time) — Billings, MT

Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as ministry developer for the Mountain West Young Life organization focusing on building ministry in the Billings area. This unique role involves direct work with the local youth community, fundraising efforts, and the exciting opportunity to develop and launch new Young Life chapters on indigenous reservations throughout Montana and Idaho.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster relationships with kids at Riverside Middle School and Senior High School in Billings, Mont., for the initial two years, engaging them with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
  • Create a vibrant community that embodies Young Life's values and allows youth to experience growth, fellowship and spiritual development.
  • Implement and maintain a fundraising strategy to raise personal support between $30,000 to $50,000 annually.
  • Develop relationships with local community leaders, churches, schools and parents to gain support and involvement.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute Young Life programs, including weekly club meetings, small group meetings, camp trips and fundraising events.
  • After two years in Billings, transition to developing and launching Young Life ministries throughout Montana and Idaho.
  • Work closely with community leaders, community members and local churches to ensure that programs align with local cultures and needs, fostering a sense of partnership and mutual respect.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and adjust programs as necessary to meet the needs of the youth and communities served.
  • Work collaboratively with the associate regional director and the Billings Young Life area director, ensuring alignment of goals and strategies.
  • Comply with and complete our Faith and Conduct Policy and pass a background check.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to Young Life's mission and values.
  • Exceptional relational skills and an ability to connect with youth.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, networking and community outreach.
  • Experience in ministry, youth work or related fields preferred.
  • Sensitivity toward and understanding of various cultures and communities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Teachable/coachable spirit to sharpen as a leader, shepherd and communicator.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Montana and Idaho.
