Regional YoungLives​ Coordinator (Part-Time) — Front Range Region, CO

YoungLives is a ministry to pregnant and parenting adolescents. Our mission is that every adolescent has the opportunity to meet Jesus and grow in their faith. We believe that through this ministry to teen parents and their children we are impacting generations with hope. We are seeking a coordinator to lead the charge.

This individual should be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and compassionate. We desire a YoungLives coordinator who is energized by working with a diverse population of adults and adolescents. The individual should enjoy working with a team but also have the ability to work independently.

This role is a partnership with the regional director as well as the divisional YoungLives​ coordinator. You will help oversee the areas that have YoungLives​ to increase ministry as well as help the areas without YoungLives​ so tee the possibilities and the opportunities to start YoungLives in their areas.

Responsibilities:

Young Life Leadership and Staff

  • Work in partnership with the regional director to lead YoungLives​ in the region.
  • Communicate regularly with the regional director and area directors who oversee YoungLives​ ministries.
  • Partner with the regional director and area directors to recruit, train, and support YoungLives​ staff at the area level.
  • Work with area directors to encourage new ministry.
  • Participate with the Regional Leadership Team (regional directors and other regional leaders) in matters pertaining to YoungLives.
  • Work with the regional director to develop and lead a YoungLives​ regional committee or participate on the Young Life regional committee.

YoungLives​ Staff and Volunteer Team Leaders

  • Communicate regularly with YoungLives​ staff and volunteer team leaders for individual support, problem solving, planning, encouragement, vision, common events, and goals.
  • Provide initial training tools to YoungLives​ start-up areas.
  • Plan and lead regular YoungLives​ training events.
  • Foster community among YoungLives​ staff and volunteer team leaders.
  • Encourage collaboration with the greater mission of Young Life.
  • Periodically attend area YoungLives​ events in the region.
  • Speak to civic and church groups to promote and publicize YoungLives in the region.

YoungLives​ Divisional Leadership Team

  • Serve on the YoungLives​ divisional leadership team with the YoungLives​ divisional coordinator.
  • Work with the divisional coordinator on division-wide tasks such as planning divisional trainings, etc.
  • Regularly communicate with the divisional coordinator.
  • Participate in regular team calls led by the divisional coordinator.

Administration

  • Ensure the administrative requirements are handled with excellence and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure areas understand and accurately report ministry information in Growth Planning Software (GPS).
  • Maintain the YoungLives​ directory with interest, start-up, and active ministry information for the region.
  • Ensure areas understand and comply with volunteer management procedures concerning YoungLives​ volunteers.
  • Ensure areas understand and comply with childcare policies.

Financial Management and Donor Development

  • Raise personal support in the amount determined with the regional director.
  • Use mission financial tools to ensure all expenses are within the budget.
  • Impart vision for the YoungLives​ ministry in the region to potential donors.
  • Learn and implement Taking Donors Seriously (TDS) procedures.
  • Ensure that all Young Life financial policies and procedures are implemented.

Camp

  • Encourage and support YoungLives​ areas in attending a YoungLives​ summer camp week.
  • Oversee YoungLives​ camping within the region (including but not limited to: budgets, assignment teams, childcare, risk management, equipment, leader training, administration, and other camp needs).
  • If regional or weekend camping is happening, then ensure standards of excellence are met.
  • Serve on camp assignments as directed by the regional director in partnership with the divisional coordinator.
  • Lead in camp childcare recruiting efforts in the region and help ensure areas meet camp childcare application deadlines.

Training

  • Attend regional staff times and retreats, as determined with the regional director.
  • Pursue continuing education or training seminars to enhance professional skills.
  • Participate in programs designed for personal spiritual maturity or enrichment.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ.
  • Ability to clearly communicate Young Life’s mission and the vision for YoungLives.
  • Understand the unique issues faced by pregnant and parenting teen parents.
  • Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults.
  • Past or current involvement in local or regional YoungLives​ ministry (preferred).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as the job requires.
