staff associate (discipleship frontier) — anchorage, ak

Description:

Discipleship Frontier is a 10-month intensive leadership development program based out of Anchorage, Alaska. We empower 21-26-year-olds with the tools, training, spiritual disciplines and their unique giftedness to live “life to the full” (John 10:10). Participants immerse themselves in part-time work, serving within local Young Life ministries, and Biblical training. Students discover the depths of who God is, who He created them to be, and how to influence the world with the Gospel. Through study, work, service and adventure, students are propelled into a purposeful future.

Equip

Through training, peer-to-peer relationship and mentoring, students will work through two semesters of Biblical leadership development. The classroom environment will account for roughly 10 hours a week. Students will encounter who Jesus is through His Word, the teaching and training of local pastors, and peer engagement.

Experience

While living in Alaska, there will be no lack of outdoor adventure! Besides camping, hiking and fishing, students will experience three expeditions intentionally designed to parallel their faith journey. The mountains of Alaska facilitate an encounter with God that is difficult to experience elsewhere!

Empower

We fundamentally believe that Jesus’ primary call on our lives is to “go and make disciples.” We empower students in this vision to live lives worth imitating. After Discipleship Frontier, students are equipped to intentionally love God and others, following wherever God calls them.
