Area Director I — Coppell, TX

Description:

The West Texas Region is seeking an area director for Young Life Coppell/Valley Ranch. The person will oversee ministry to middle school and high school students. Coppell is a city in the northwest corner of Dallas County and a suburb in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex with a population of roughly 41,500. Currently Young Life Coppell/Valley Ranch serves two high schools totaling 5,000 students and one middle school serving 750 students with room to grow into three other middle schools that would serve 3,200 more students. There is a team of leaders and a committee eager to welcome a new area director to the work of Young Life in Coppell/Valley Ranch.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and corporate level.
  • Lead or co-lead a model Young Life club; lead/supervise an effective Campaigners ministry with excellence.
  • Develop and sustain diverse student leaders and adult volunteers including the area committee as well as implement ongoing plans to maximize Gospel proclamation.
  • Develop and execute an area vision and strategic plan.
  • Work in partnership with the committee and regional director on the financial development of the area.
  • Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
  • Participation and leadership in annual staff events and training.
  • Committee recruitment/training/leading and maintaining relationships and roles.
  • Will include the extremes of a camp assignment, e.g., heat/cold, dirt, long hours and the physical demands of hiking, horseback riding, etc. This staff person must be able to handle these conditions.

Qualifications:

  • A deep and growing faith in the Triune God.
  • A philosophy and history of discipling others.
  • Ability to build, train, recruit and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders and committee members).
  • A vision and plan to grow current ministries in reaching kids, leaders, committee and parents.
  • A passion for reaching lost kids and calling others to that mission.
  • A servant leader who is teachable, innovative, collaborative and flexible.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills as it pertains to donors and parents of kids.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated extensive fundraising experience.
  • Must have completed Core Training - Phase One.
  • College degree preferred.
