Area Director or Staff Associate — Amarillo, Texas

Description:

The West Texas Region is prayerfully seeking an area director for Young Life in Amarillo. This dynamic person will oversee the outreach and discipleship ministry to middle school and high school students. Young Life in Amarillo is one of the oldest areas in the country with a history of incredible ministry to students.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and corporate level.
  • Lead or co-lead a model Young Life club; lead/supervise an effective Campaigners ministry with excellence.
  • Develop and sustain diverse student leaders and adult volunteers, including the area committee as well as implement ongoing plans to maximize Gospel proclamation.
  • Develop and execute an area vision and strategic plan.
  • Work in partnership with the committee and regional director on the financial development of the area.
  • Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
  • Participation and leadership in annual staff events and training.
  • Committee recruitment/training/leading and maintaining relationships and roles.
  • Will include the extremes of a camp assignment, e.g., heat/cold, dirt, long hours, and the physical demands of hiking, horseback riding, etc.

Qualifications:

  • A deep and growing faith in the Triune God.
  • A passion for reaching lost kids and calling others to that mission.
  • A philosophy and history of discipling others.
  • Ability to build, train, recruit, and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders, and committee members).
  • A vision and plan to grow current ministries in reaching kids, leaders, committee, and parents.
  • A servant leader who is teachable, innovative, collaborative, and flexible.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills---as it pertains to donors and parents of kids.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated fundraising experience.
  • College degree preferred.
