Wylie has become one of the fastest-growing communities in the country. With a population of more than 51,000, Wylie’s growth reflects a 230% increase since 2000. Its quality of life and spirit of community are but two of the factors cited in Wylie’s ever-lengthening list of awards and accolades.

The area currently has a volunteer team, active committee and a healthy financial outlook. The area has potential for continued growth. The right candidate will be deeply committed to kid work and Biblical truth, as well as their personal spiritual development, a culture of belonging, collaboration, and creative strategies to reach every kind of kid. Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and area level.
  • Supervise, support and develop area staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Develop and sustain student leaders and adult volunteers, including a committee.
  • Develop and execute an area vision and strategic plan.
  • Work in partnership with the committee on the financial development of the area.
  • Participate in dynamic direct ministry with kids (contact work).
  • Participation and leadership in annual staff events and training.
  • Committee recruitment/training/leading and maintaining relationships and roles.

Qualifications:

  • Prior Young Life experience preferred.
  • Experience with shepherding volunteer leaders.
  • Spiritual maturity and a growing faith.
  • Successful track record in working with adolescents and sharing the Gospel.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in developing people.
  • Strong initiative and vision.
  • Experience in raising money and managing a budget.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with adults in the community.
