Capernaum Coordinator — Dallas, TX (Lake Highlands)

Description:

The Northeast Texas Region is prayerfully seeking a humble servant leader to serve as Capernaum coordinator for Lake Highlands Young Life in Dallas, Texas. This person would develop healthy and sustainable ministry to kids with disabilities in this area under the direction of an area director.

This area includes Lake Highlands High School, Lake Highlands Middle School, Forest Meadow Middle School, and Conrad High School. There is a rich history of Young Life in this area and strong committee support.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and area level.
  • Recruit adult leaders for the Capernaum team.
  • Communicate with and build relationships with teachers and coaches in the community.
  • Be a part of a Young Life area and team, working together for the common goal.
  • Weekly contact work with high school kids with disabilities.
  • Lead club and Campaigners, proclaiming the gospel creatively and effectively.
  • Personal fundraising.
  • Develop a Buddy Program with help from area staff.
  • Communicate with parents and organize ministry in a way that serves and cares for families with kids with disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Must have some experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Can start, lead, and oversee multiple ministry teams.
  • Has experience working directly with teenagers.
  • Is adaptable and flexible in order to meet the vast and ever-changing needs of this student population.
  • Willing to live in the community you are serving.
  • Collaborates well with others as part of the staff team.
