Description:

The West Texas Young Life Region is seeking a college director or college staff associate in Midland, Texas. The person will oversee the outreach and discipleship ministry to college students.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and corporate level.
• Lead or co-lead a model Young Life College club; lead/supervise effective small groups with excellence.
• Recruit, develop, and sustain diverse student leaders and adult volunteer leaders.
• Implement ongoing plans and opportunities to maximize Gospel proclamation.
• Develop and execute an area vision and strategic plan.
• Work in partnership with the committee and area director on the financial development of the area.
• Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
• Participation and leadership in area and regional staff events and training.
• Raise financial support as directed and maintain good donor care practices.
• Lead a team to plan and conduct a new or existing Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry with excellence.
• Committee recruitment, training, and leading.
• Will include the extremes of camp trips and summer and/or winter camp assignments, e.g., heat/cold, dirt, long hours, and the physical demands of hiking, horseback riding, etc. The staff person must be able to handle these conditions.

Qualifications:

• A deep and growing faith in God.
• A passion for reaching lost adolescents and calling others to that mission.
• A philosophy and history of discipling others.
• Ability to build, train, recruit, and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders, and committee members).
• A vision and plan to grow current ministries in reaching kids, leaders, committee, and parents.
• A servant leader who is teachable, innovative, collaborative, and flexible.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrated fundraising experience.
