Come be a part of the Young Life College team in Waco, Texas! For decades, Baylor University has been a ripe place for the Gospel to move forward as well as a pipeline for area leaders. There are currently 75 volunteer leaders in the area (most of which are Baylor students) serving eight clubs. We are just scratching the surface at Baylor along with the community college and Texas State Technical College.

We have a big vision in this area for reaching adolescents for Jesus, and our college ministry is vital. We need help going after more college students in Waco. Contact work is king, and we place a massive emphasis on uninterrupted time with students. If you are craving a job where you are encouraged and freed up to be with students, this role is for you.

The primary focus of Young Life College in Waco is to introduce students to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. Secondary would be to recruit and train students for leadership. We are in five of the 10 high schools and one of the 11 middle schools … and our Capernaum ministry is growing fast! College students come from all over the nation as well as from all around the world. The nations are in our backyard, and we want to reach them with the Gospel. Responsibilities:

  • Embody a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Love and pursue students on campus daily.
  • Rally and invite students to go on trips like Spring Break and Work Week.
  • Establish a presence among the student body.
  • Form a healthy foundation for ministry to grow for years to come.
  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and corporate level.
  • Lead or co-lead a Young Life College club; lead/supervise effective small groups with excellence.
  • Recruit, develop and sustain diverse student leaders and adult volunteer leaders.
  • Implement ongoing plans and opportunities to maximize Gospel proclamation.
  • Work in partnership with the Young Life college team.
  • Participation and leadership in area and regional staff events and training.
  • A history of discipling others.
  • Develop a robust team of personal fundraising.
  • Ability to build, train, recruit and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders and committee members).
  • A servant leader who is teachable, innovative, collaborative and flexible.
  • Participate in dynamic direct ministry with college students.

Qualifications:

  • College degree.
  • Proven relational skills with both college students and adults.
  • A call to reach students with the Gospel.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior Young Life experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in developing people.
  • Strong initiative and vision.
