Area Director II — Cabarrus County, NC

Description:

Cabarrus County is one of the fastest growing communities in the greater Charlotte area. Without a doubt, the county will look different in 10 years than it currently does, yet it still manages to maintain its local flare. As a former mill town, the community certainly values its history, culture, and “low and slowness,” but it isn’t afraid of revitalization.

The community will benefit from someone who is excited about creating a vision for growing ministry while also maintaining the distinguishable difference that makes Cabarrus County unique from Charlotte. The county is large in geography and features many different subcultures within itself.

Mount Pleasant, historic Concord, and Kannapolis feel more like a break from the fast pace of Charlotte but are constantly under construction with new coffee shops, restaurants, and apartment complexes. As Cabarrus County draws closer to Charlotte, it feels more like a suburb community of the city, boasting a 15,000-home neighborhood in Highland Creek which is next to Concord Mills — the largest shopping mall in the state. Harrisburg is also a rapidly growing community that is bursting with ministry opportunity and potential. Its charm is undeniable, giving someone all the nearby benefits of a major city, but also providing land, limited traffic, and a low-key evening sitting on your back porch.

We currently have Young Life in eight schools, but there is potential to grow into 13+ more ministries in the area. This is a multi-staffed area with a large college as its pipeline for volunteer leaders.
