About 55 years ago, Encinitas Young Life started with a group of adults eager to bring their kids to Christ in an attractive way. Today, we have weekly evening clubs for both Young Life and WyldLife. We also have Young Life Lunch Clubs at San Dieguito Academy and at La Costa Canyon High School. We are a fun group of hard-working people in an amazing place that has a need and desire for Young Life. Encinitas has grown deeper and wider over the past 55 years and needs someone ready to help move it into the next season.

We are looking for someone with Young Life experience who is ready to lead Encinitas Young Life into the season ahead. We need a strong spiritual leader, kid magnet, leader recruiter/developer with high relational skills and a proven track record of success. Encinitas Young Life needs someone with relational excellence, passion, organizational excellence, and a desire to be developed in their own leadership.

Responsibilities:

Volunteer leader and committee development will be key to creating the structure needed to journey deep and wide with students in the community!

Area Information:

  • Encinitas Young Life serves a community of approximately 13,000 kids in middle school and high school.
  • There are four local public schools with a few smaller private schools close by. (Diegueno Middle, LaCosta Canyon High, Oak Crest Middle, San Dieguito High Academy are the primary schools.)
  • There is a local community college, Mira Costa, that serves 12,645 students. There is a hope to expand ministry to include college students in the future.

The Local Young Life Area Has:

  • Many committed adults and alumni.
  • Healthy relationships with churches and adults in the community.
  • A Young Life volunteer team poised for growth with about 20 current leaders.
  • Established annual fundraising that’s been blessed with faithful supporters and a current surplus in operating and campership.

  • Leader of leaders.
  • Self-starter.

Qualifications:

  • Deep passion for Jesus and kids.
  • At least two years of full-time Young Life staff experience.
  • Must have completed Core Training - Phase One.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Proven track record of fundraising.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
