Why Young Life Tri-Valley?​

Young Life has a rich tradition in the Tri-Valley area going back to the 1980’s. Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin are some of the most beautiful (and convenient) locations to live in the San Francisco (SF) Bay area, and even in all of California. It is a sophisticated, upscale suburban area 36 miles east of San Francisco. The area features opportunities for every interest, incredible hiking and scenery, wine country and top-ranked public schools in the State of California.

Young Life in the Tri-Valley is part of the SF Bay Region, where we have an ethnically and generationally diverse staff, many of whom have been involved in Young Life in the Bay Area for 20+ years. Our staff team in the SF Bay Region is second to none. Doing ministry in the most unchurched area in the U.S. is challenging. But our team is all in — for Christ, for each other and for the world of kids who live right here in the Bay Area. What’s the Job and What We’re Looking For ...

We seek a visionary, entrepreneurial, innovative and self-starting leader with a passion for Christ and youth who will take advantage of existing ministry opportunities, develop volunteers and harness the historical strength and passion for Young Life in this area to lead us into a new era of dynamic ministry.

We are looking to execute a strategic “re-launch” of ministry in Dublin. This includes an immediate focus on developing a strong WyldLife ministry at Wells Middle School, with the hope of expanding into Dublin High in a few years.

Responsibilities:

• Serving in various capacities on the Wells Middle School campus three to four times per week.
• Get to know more than 100 students by name in the first six months.
• Connect and meet with various parents once a week for the purpose of establishing the next generation of adult support and engagement around the ministry in Dublin.
• Recruit, lead and inspire a team of volunteer leaders at Wells Middle School to have a dynamic presence on the Wells Middle School campus.
• Start a weekly WyldLife club.

Qualifications:

• Deep, abiding faith in Jesus Christ and love for people.
• Passionate about middle school and high school kids.
• Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
• Proven successful leadership and team building skills.
• Self-starter.
• Confident to go on campus and meet new kids.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills, especially as it pertains to parents and adults.
