Regional University Coordinator

Description:

Young Life Western Europe is looking for an experienced staff person to fill a regional university coordinator position. This job can be performed from one of Young Life's Western European countries of the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Portugal or Italy and provide training and oversight for current university ministries as well as help country directors start new ministries. This is a full-time position that includes salary and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute Young Life’s mission to “introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith” through the power of relationships.
  • Provide training and oversight for country/university directors as they lead all aspects of the college ministry, including supervising a volunteer leader team of young adults.
  • Spend significant time each week building relationships with college students in home base country with goal to start ministry in base location.
  • Train and support staff in planning and running weekly programmatic events for students, both outreach (club) and discipleship (Campaigners).
  • Assist country/university directors in the ongoing recruiting, leading and training of staff and volunteer leaders with a goal to start university ministry in each of Young Life’s Western European countries.
  • Help lead multiple summer and school season camp trips, retreats and mission trips.
  • Together with the country/university directors, raise funds and awareness of Young Life in the area.
  • Develop and supervise Developing Global Leaders (DGL) staff.
  • Fundraise personal salary and budget.

Qualifications:

  • A deep love for Jesus and passion for outreach ministry.
  • Ability and desire to relate to college students.
  • Strong Christian faith, knowledge of God's Word, and ability to lead others to Christ.
  • Proven track record of self-starting and taking initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and desire to maintain a varying schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Multicultural ministry experience desired or a strong willingness to grow into a multicultural leader.
  • Willingness to live in the region (this includes the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Portugal or Italy).
  • Possess high capacity and high energy level.
  • Comfortable relating to adults of all ages.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have seven to eight years of Young Life or college ministry experience.
