Senior Director of Global Talent Management
Mission & Authority
The Senior Director of Global Talent Acquisition is responsible for managing the life cycle for all Young Life positions. This position will build, lead, and develop the systems surrounding hiring, onboarding and off boarding through creation of resources and processes aligned to Mission goals. This position will oversee the day to day operations of the Talent Acquisition office as evidenced by supervision of hiring processes, job posting, etc.
Essential Duties:
Spiritual Development
- Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, study, prayer, and worship.
- Ensure that all Young Life work is designed and carried out with an awareness of and in alignment with Young Life’s Values and Methods.
- Develop strong spiritual disciplines and accountability considering possible distance supervision and travel schedule.
Talent Management
- Experience leading, developing, and executing global talent and leadership development strategies and programs.
- Leadership in development of teams, both within HR, but also cross-functional teams across the mission and external (facilitators, external program evaluators and curriculum designers).
- Critical thinking – ability to understand and translate external trends and organizational talent needs for the mission of YL.
- Strategic Project Management – ability to create and deploy strategic, mission wide programs from conception to fruition.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in the execution of executive talent management initiatives and development.
- Supporting and partnering with the executive program Developing Kingdom Leaders (DKL). Analyzing data surveys and themes with each cohort, debriefing with DKL team to bring continual excellence to the program.
- Ability to lead and negotiate in-kind funding for programs in HR, DKL & Leadership & Learning.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communications and presentations skills; ability to effectively convey information.
- Experience leading, managing and influencing others, exceptional team building skills, being an example for the mission of YL.
- Highly collaborative approach, with the ability to quickly build strong and trusted relationship across different levels in the mission of YL
- Collaboration - Engage with field, camping, international, and mission services leaders to understand talent requirements, set strategies where appropriate
- Partner well with HR - VPs, Sr Directors, Directors and staff for a posture of high service to the mission staff and leaders.
- Embracing and leading a culture that is inclusive and diverse.
- Help to design best practice on-boarding that transfers across the global mission of YL.
- Responsible for the engagement survey partnership and the work that transpires from the survey.
- Responsibilities include coaching leaders, managing performance processes, and supporting tailored on-boarding plans for leaders.
Talent Acquisition
- Oversee and manage a full-cycle talent acquisition and selection process.
- Manages the TA team, bringing team building, development and a broader connection to the whole HR team.
- Engage with field, camping, international, and mission services leaders to understand hiring requirements, set realistic expectations and educate on the recruiting process.
- Leverage social media, internet sourcing, referral sources and other technical means to generate qualified leads and create strong and diverse candidate pipelines for both immediate and future vacancies.
- Develop and execute candidate sourcing plans, maintaining strong relationships with supply sources.
- Track, analyze and report on recruitment and selection metrics to ensure effectiveness of recruitment strategies and supply sources.
- Serve as a project team member on staffing projects related to staffing growth initiatives.
- Provide leadership coaching on workforce strategy and pipeline potential.
- Support the delivery of mission-wide hiring and onboarding training where appropriate.
- Driving a “total Mission First” mindset to ensure leaders and teams are working in an increasingly integrated way.
- Candidate Pipeline – leading a strategy that is inclusive brings diverse in candidates into the mission.
Job-Specific Working Conditions
- Role permits remote work.
- Preferred Locations: Major US cities or Colorado Springs.
- 20% travel may be required.
- The anticipated salary for this position can range from $92,071-$127,506 depending on relevant experience and education.

Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
Experience Required for the Job
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience leading teams
- Talent Management experience preferred.
- Executive Development experience preferred.
- Young Life experience preferred.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have skills managing and developing budgets.
- Must have experience managing outside vendor relationships.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, manage own time and take ownership of work.
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines while maintain high quality of work.
- Adaptable, flexible, and works with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with a strong sense of integrity and ethics with the ability to handle confidential information.
- Solid expertise in HR technical proficiencies and core HR competencies with experience in coaching, employee development and driving process improvements preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix team environment with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to execute initiatives in a timely manner with high quality.
- Ability to influence without formal authority and consultative method.
- Demonstrated ability to build and strengthen positive relationships within operational teams, the Service Center HR team, and legal partners, peers, and leaders across the mission.
- Strong business acumen.
- Strong leadership, integration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in performance management, process management, coaching and mentoring preferred.
