U.S. VP of Strategic Initiatives & Integration

Essential Duties:

General:
  • Participate in the strategic development of connectivity for Young Life in the U.S. field
  • Participate in efforts to create administrative, field, and functional integration and connectivity for staff and volunteers in the U.S., including facilitation of U.S. mission priorities
  • Facilitate management of systems and staffing for gathering data needed by Young Life for its field leadership reports.
  • Provide feedback to and integration of U.S. core ministries and strategic initiatives.
  • Work with all Young Life departments functional/Mission Services staff to facilitate appropriate set-ups and communications in all divisions and focus/stage of life ministries for consistency and operating practices
  • Work with field leadership and U.S. Operations departments to implement corporate operations and functional policies for new and existing strategic initiatives.
Strategy:
  • Provide oversight, supervision, organizational vision, and practical support to 3-5 national strategic initiatives.
  • Manage deliverables, timelines, and tasks in a cross-functional and collaborative manner.
  • Partner with Field Senior Vice Presidents and functional partners to execute U.S. Field priorities
  • Collaborate with the VP of Strategic Services for subject matter expertise, project management, and training as applicable.
  • Contribute to driving organizational integration and execution across all divisions
  • Troubleshoot and drive issues and challenges, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Organize executive-level presentation materials and systems to provide high-level reporting and increase organizational awareness.
  • Facilitate the timely flow of accurate information across work streams and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for financial management of the initiatives for the GSVP office.
Liaison with the U.S. Field:
  • Participate as deemed necessary in U.S. field leadership meetings and conferences.
  • Ensure strong connectivity is upheld with the senior vice presidents of every division and the vice presidents of the focus and stage of life ministries.
  • Facilitate regular communication with divisional SVPs and other leaders in each division.
  • As needed, make on-site visits to help understand issues and find solutions.
Other:
  • Collaborate as an advisor for MarCom, fostering effective communication on behalf of U.S. field communications in partnership with U.S. Operations office
  • Assist the GSVP office in managing all major donor communications.

Spiritual Development:

  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, study, prayer, and worship.
  • Ensure that all Young Life work is designed and carried out with an awareness of and in alignment with Young Life’s Values and Methods.
  • Develop strong spiritual disciplines and accountability considering possible distance supervision and travel schedule.

Financial Stewardship:

  • Be the visible, present “Culture Carrier.”
  • Lead, shape, and advance Young Life’s culture and core mission.
  • Elevate the collective capability of the U.S. Field organization.

Culture:

  • Oversee financial health and raising funds to carry out the ministry initiative’ss vision by identifying and cultivating donors and managing and overseeing budgets.
  • In coordination with Development Services, ensure the fundraising necessary to sustain the role

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment/Remote work is acceptable
  • Occasional travel – 30-40% expected for US travel
  • The salary range for this position is anywhere from $123, 836-$171,496 per year.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience and Qualifications Required for the Position:

  • Proven relational skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, devise logical and creative solutions, and empower people to implement them.
  • Works well with a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • 10 years of direct work experience in strategy, execution, and/or program management.
  • Strong understanding of Young Life’s culture and operations, with the ability to successfully navigate and lead in a cross-functional environment.
  • Prior work experience in a strategic role, or management consultant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and initiatives/programs collaboratively without a direct reporting line.
  • Experience leading projects and initiatives/programs end-to-end, including developing work plans, assessing dependencies, coordinating with appropriate stakeholders, developing financial models, and synthesizing findings into recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to take recommendations and operationalize them.
  • Ability to appropriately manage expectations across scoped and proposed projects and related stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously from conception to completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of effective collaboration across a complex, diverse, and geographically distributed organization.
